Do you find it easier to remember things when you see them rather than hear or read about them? If so, you might be a visual learner.
This means your brain processes and retains information more effectively through images, colors, diagrams, and visual aids.
At Spanish with Arian, we want your learning journey to be as effective as possible.
Here are some practical tips to help you make the most of your visual learning style.

1. Use Mind Maps and Diagrams
Visual organization helps you understand and remember key concepts. Create mind maps to connect vocabulary, grammar rules, or cultural topics. You can use digital tools like MindMeister or go old-school with paper and colorful markers—whatever works best for you!

2. Color Coding
Color-coding is a simple yet powerful tool. Assign different colors to vocabulary categories or grammar rules—blue for nouns, red for verbs, green for adjectives. This technique makes it easier to recall information during practice sessions.

3. Visual Flashcards
Flashcards are a classic and effective way to learn. Adding images alongside vocabulary words helps you visually connect words with their meanings. Apps like Quizlet or Anki are great for creating digital flashcards. I personally use Quizlet with my students, and it works wonders.
As my student, I can share links to my personalized vocabulary sets with you, and I can also provide special access links that allow you to study for 90 minutes without ads. Please note that my plans do not include a free Quizlet subscription.

4. Infographics and Flowcharts
When tackling grammar or complex topics, infographics can simplify the information, making it easier to grasp. Flowcharts are also helpful for understanding how verb tenses or sentence structures work.

5. Videos and Visual Resources
Watching videos is an engaging way to immerse yourself in Spanish. YouTube is a fantastic, free resource where you can see native speakers in real-life situations. I highly recommend travel vlogs to learn about Spanish-speaking countries and cultures. One of my favorites is "Los zapatos de Mónica". Plus, I'll soon be sharing my own vlogs on YouTube with a focus on learning Spanish!

6. Whiteboards and Sticky Notes
If constant visual reminders help you, place sticky notes with new vocabulary around your home or use a whiteboard to jot down phrases and grammar tips. Seeing these notes daily reinforces your learning effortlessly.
Try one of these techniques and tell me how it helped you! I’d love to hear your story—share your experience with me on Instagram @spanishwitharian.
